It was raining yesterday morning when we were all getting ready to go to work. G slept in late, rare for her. She didn't get up till quarter to 8! So, she went to work in her jammies. And her rain coat. She looked so darn cute I had to take a picture. So, I put her in her car seat, which was sitting on the dining room table. And I turned around to grab the camera that was on the dining room hutch.
Notice I said that I PUT her in her car seat. I did not say that I strapped her in her car seat. I did not say that I followed every instruction on the car seat label and put the car seat on the floor. No, I put her in the car seat and then I turned around. And G sat forward, because she is not a fan of the car seat and likes to make it difficult to strap her in. And when she sat forward in the car seat that she wasn't strapped into and that was sitting on the dining room table, she fell out. Onto the floor! And the car seat followed her! Onto the floor, thankfully, not on to her!
Now notice that in this picture she is strapped in. And notice that her face is not red and puffy from crying. She has no visible bumps or bruises or cuts. Notice that she is sheepishly SMILING in this picture! This picture was taken approximately 4 minutes after she fell out of the car seat her BAD MAMA did not strap her into. This kid is resilient! She cried, of course. And I cried (and felt faint). And then she stopped crying. And she was fine. Amazingly fine. And when JOHN put her back in the car seat (not BAD MAMA), she was smiling! What a great baby!
