So, without further ado, my 100th post: My 100 Blessings (in random order).
- My daughter's smile first thing in the morning. She does this little bounce up and down while she is standing in the crib, holds her blankie, smiles at me, and says "Mama."
- Hot coffee before dashing out into the frigid morning to start my car.
- Windshield fluid that doesn't freeze when I squirt it on my window.
- Warm socks.
- That John often sneaks a kiss at work when we're alone.
- Nirchi's pizza.
- 100% employer paid health insurance.
- That G knows how to give a hug now, and does so every time we get to that point in "BabyCakes."
- Listening to G babble and play in her crib before I go in to get her.
- The nights my husband is able to make up to bed and doesn't sleep on the couch.
- Text messages.
- A warm house.
- Central air in the summer.
- Summer.
- My mother-in-law's inground pool.
- That G loves to have books read to her.
- That my parents provide a loving, happy, (free) childcare situation for G.
- 2 wonderfully understanding and empathetic bosses.
- Freshly painted toenails.
- My health.
- G's health.
- My loyal, excited dog.
- 2 cuddly kitties.
- Neighbors who snow-blow.
- Hot showers.
- The nights I have the time and desire to make a hot, homecooked meal.
- Saturday mornings that are usually slow, cuddly playtime.
- Homemade zucchini or banana bread.
- My kitchen-aid mixer.
- The church John and I found and made ours. Even though we haven't been there in too long, people still call, send letters, think of and pray for us.
- That I do believe there is a HP out there interceding on our behalf.
- Yoga.
- Wednesday morning yoga at work (for free, with good people.)
- That John plays the guitar and mandolin, often.
- Baby feet.
- That Giuliana is almost always a happy child. She is rarely upset or whiny.
- Hand-me-down baby clothes.
- A good doctor.
- Playing dress-up.
- The days that G will let me put stuff in her hair.
- That her hair is finally growing.
- Blogs.
- That John is still friends with the same guys he has known for 2+ decades.
- That those guys have found incredible wives who have become my sisters.
- A good book.
- Cookbooks.
- Shutterfly.
- My laptop.
- NPR in my car.
- That my peony bushes will be bigger this year.
- Yogurt.
- Local music.
- Watching my daughter figure something out.
- That Giuliana's Godparents love her and are involved so much in her life.
- Icecream.
- Brownies.
- Oatmeal Raisen Cookies.
- Birthday Cake.
- That after almost 6 years, my husband still cares to tickle me on a regular basis.
- That he just asked to cuddle with me.
- Rocking my baby.
- Hearty, comforting homemade soup made by a friend.
- Noggin On Demand.
- That John and I always end all phone conversations with "I love you." And mean it.
- That we also tell each other "I love you," several times a day.
- Good health insurance.
- Goodnight kisses.
- Dr. Shaw, my awesome ob/gyn, who believed me when I told him that I knew I would have problems conceiving and didn't make me wait for a year before helping me. That he performed the surgery that enabled me to get pregnant with G the very next cycle.
- Cookie-cutter cut out sandwiches for G.
- My nieces and nephews.
- My home.
- A husband who waits with me in the cold, makes me laugh, and brings me cotton candy.
- A hot bath before bed on a cold night.
- Time enough to actually shave my legs.
- Taking Giuliana for a walk.
- That Giuliana loves music.
- Popcorn.
- Communication.
- How Giuliana giggles when she feeds the dog her Cheerios.
- How she sticks her face in Max's to get him to give her a "kiss," and then cracks up.
- How she smells after a bath.
- Scratching off to-do list items.
- Clean dishes.
- Tax refunds.
- STAR rebates.
- Stars.
- That G knows and will remember all her grandparents.
- That they all love her so much.
- A fresh canvas, paints and an idea.
- Cuddling on the couch with time to watch a movie.
- G's little round tummy.
- Bedtime.
- Good morning hugs.
- Family that loves us.
- Maple syrup.
- That, though we certainly have debts, we have enough money to provide for our family.
- That we live now, and not one hundred or one thousand years ago.
- That I am a mother.
- That sometimes, I hit on some serenity and am able to just let stuff go.
- That I could easily keep going with this list.
