I poured the new box into the tin holding all the old, broken, well-loved crayons before she got home. I waited excitedly as she made her way over to the table, as she does everyday. Immediately the chubby little fists grabbed the sleek, clean sticks and began to create.
"Circle, Mama?" "Smiy!" (smile.) We draw together. I draw random shapes, letters, numbers. She scribbles and colors in the pictures. She helps me name the drawings. "Double," (w), "ney" (9).
"Pu-poh!" She gets that one right. "Boo!" She holds up a green crayon. We'll work on that one.
Oh! The possibilities! Sigh. I heart new crayons.

So cute! My darlings got new crayons on Wed (must be the week for it). They have spent hours coloring together since then and only tried to taste two! That had never happened before, but new crayons were obviously more appealing than the old ones.
She is going to love back to school!
This reminds me of Kamden, he called happy faces, happies. And also sand castles. No idea why both were the same but they were. I love remembering stuff like that!
Whenever I get a new box of crayons, I immediately open the box and take a great big ol' whiff. It's like a little piece of heaven. I love that G enjoys coloring, all those colors on one page. She has wonderful color taste!
The delight of the first opening of a box of 96. The smell, the smoothness of all those tips... the possibilities... *sigh*
Oh, new crayons, new markers, love 'em all.
Our youngest currently calls all colours "Bo" (Blue).
