Happy 4th, Peeps!

Looking forward to:

July Sunshine! (It has to be just around the corner, right? Right??)

The Great "Can-scapade" with the girls on Friday. There will be pictures and posts here, here, and here, I'm sure. Oh, and here, too! Now, I just have to find time to scrounge up some strawberries before noon tomorrow...

Introducing my daughter to the laughter, creativity, good food, and love that ensues when a group of women gather in a kitchen for an afternoon.

Fourth of July BBQ and swimming at my mother-in-law's on Saturday. And fireworks? We'll see. Last year G slept right through them. Unbelievable.

A Sunday trip to the creek and relaxing with my little family after a busy few days.

I hope each and every one of you have a splendid, restful, enjoyable holiday!

Sounds like you have a fabulous weekend planned! I'm gonna need full details on the canning, my friend, because I'm hoping to take that on for the first time this fall. With my mom, of course, but I don't want to look like a total noob. ;)

Happy 4th to you all too!

Beth, I'll be sure to let you know...last year I tried blueberry conserves on my own (and blogged about it, what was I thinking!) and it turned out HARD AS A ROCK!

Also, looks like Sunday will be another busy day. I guess we are helping my soon-to-be brother-in-law (3 weeks tomorrow! Eek!) move on Sunday morning. (Into Gina's tiny, tiny house, for those of you following the saga. Still no house, but Jerry sold his, so, it's one, big, happy, cramped family!)

I cannot WAIT for tomorrow! I think, unfortunately, I will be "gathering" my strawberries from Wegman's farm (was hoping for something a little more woodsy/naturey/exciting)... I will be just a touch past noon though- manicure at 11:30!! (Ironic, huh? Paying to have your nails painted prior to canning organic strawberries a la pioneer women??)

I'm hitting up the Cider Mill's farmer's market this morning. I figured that's closer to the true meaning of canning than buying California strawberries at the Giant! I just don't have it in me to go picking with a wild 18 (ok, ALMOST 19) month old this morning!
