P.S. I am proposing that there should be an universal law that babies and toddlers who can't possibly comprehend what is going on should not have to be subjected to having their blood drawn by some guy (who was nice and sang the whole time, but still...) who can't find the vein and pokes around for 5 minutes and then takes three vials of blood, one of which won't fill correctly so he has to switch it out for a new one which he can't find, all the while the poor baby is laying there, scared and screaming. That's a fair law, right?
P.P.S My girl? She is AMAZINGLY strong for 15 months old. She held her little arm perfectly still the whole time. And once she got her lollipop at the end, the tears dried up and she was all "yum!" and smiles the whole ride home.
P.P.P.S I know there are children out there (I work with a lot of them) who have to endure much more painful and invasive medical treatments. They are AMAZINGLY strong too. This universal law applies for them as well.
